The Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) One Town One Product (OTOP) Trade Fair saw a 7% increase in sales compared to last year, according to DTI Provincial Director Vierna Teresa Ligan.
The six-day event, held from July 17-22, generated total sales of P19.7 million pesos, up from P18.3 million pesos in 2023.
Among the 32 exhibitors from Central Visayas, Bohol led with 1.047 million pesos in cash sales from processed food alone, plus an additional sale in confirmed orders from 18 Bohol-based exhibitors.
Cebu’s six exhibitors reported P691,000 pesos in cash sales and P225,000 pesos in orders.
Negros Oriental’s eight exhibitors logged P521,000 pesos in cash sales and P8,000 pesos in booked sales. Siquijor’s sole exhibitor generated P26,000 pesos in sales.
Processed food sales from Central Visayas totaled P2.5 million pesos.
In the non-food category, including jewelry, baskets, and home decor, Bohol earned P4.4 million pesos, including P1.1 million pesos in committed purchases. Cebu reported P2.1 million pesos, Negros Oriental P173,000 pesos, and Siquijor P135,000 pesos.
Central Visayas region’s combined food and non-food sales reached P10.13 million pesos. Other regions contributed an additional P9.5 million pesos to the fair’s total revenue.
The event featured 125 exhibitors occupying 140 stalls. Fifty-two exhibitors each showcased processed food and non-food items, while 11 exhibitors offered furniture.
The Sandugo OTOP Trade Fair, organized by the DTI, aims to provide small investors a platform to showcase new government-supported products and connect producers with potential buyers.
