IATF MUST ALLOW PARALLEL COVID-19 VACCINE PURCHASES AND VACCINATIONS IMMEDIATELY
To achieve herd immunity faster, the IATF must approve parallel COVID-19 vaccine purchases and immunization by the business, church, and local government sectors. Time is of the essence.
If IATF keeps on insisting all vaccine purchases will be done by the national government alone, there will be congestion in the purchasing pipeline and there will be long unnecessary delays up ahead.
Parallel COVID-19 purchases and vaccination means more vaccines available sooner and more people getting inoculated faster.

If the IATF insists on limiting vaccine access to government-to-government purchases by the national government only, then we will not achieve herd immunity for the 70% to 90% of our country’s 110 million Filipinos.
It is simple math. The current IATF way means only 20% of Filipinos get vaccinated in 5 years.
But if we have parallel purchases and vaccination, we can achieve herd immunity in 2 years.
The right target for achieving herd immunity is April 2022 at the latest, a month before the May 2022 national and location elections. Para makaboto ang lahat ng gustong bumoto sa mga presinto ng halalan.
Dapat mabakunahan na ang mga college students at senior high school students later this year, para sila ay makabalik na sa mga campus.
Dapat mabakunahan ang lahat ng workers at self-employed ngayon taon. Kung maaari sana bago mag-June, para tuluyan nang umarangkada ang ating ekonomiya.
Hinihintay pa natin ang COVID-19 vaccine na para sa mga kabataan. Iyong Moderna vaccine kasi pang-15 years old pataas lang ang rekomendasyon sa pagbabakuna. Wala pang rekomendadong bakuna para sa mga 14 years old pababa. (END)
