PYDO Launches Refresher Courses to Boost Sports Excellence in Bohol

The Provincial Youth Development Office (PYDO) has launched a series of refresher courses aimed at boosting sports excellence in the province.

The two-day training program, held at 717 Cesar’s Place recently, brought together coaches, referees, and technical officials under the Harnessing New and Advanced Sports Skills (HANAS) Program.

The program aims to localize and align sports development programming with the Philippines Sports Commission (PSC) to promote sports awareness and accessibility.

The inaugural course focused on boxing and was conducted by certified trainers and coaches from the PSC and the Association of Boxing Alliances of the Philippines (ABAP).

The activity was supported by boxing community partners under the Building Governance for Sports Advancement for Youth (BUGSAY) Program, a complementary sports development initiative of PYDO that focuses on private sector partnership and collaboration.

A total of 50 boxing coaches, referees, and judges participated in the two-day training, which included a recapitulation game on the second day.

Meanwhile, PYDO launched the Second Leg of the Abante Grassroots Sports Clinic B "Caravan for Advanced Learning – Football Development" in Alicia, where 55 schoolchildren aged 10-17 participated.

The activity was supported by the LGU Alicia, led by Mayor Victoriano Torres III, Sports Coordinator Marlino Butcon Jr., and the Alicia Football Club.
