Six hospitalised with dengue fever in Bohol
Six individuals, including an infant, have been admitted to hospital after contracting dengue fever in Bohol province, health officials have reported.
The patients range in age from five months to 30 years and come from various municipalities across the island, including Panglao, Danao, Mabini, Inabanga, and Dauis.
Symptoms reported by the victims included fever, weakness, loss of appetite, vomiting, and abdominal pain, prompting their families to seek medical attention.
Upon examination, doctors confirmed positive dengue diagnoses for all six patients.
The patients are currently receiving treatment and remain under medical supervision, according to hospital sources.
Dengue fever, a mosquito-borne viral infection, is endemic in many parts of the Philippines, with cases typically surging during the rainy season.
Bohol health authorities urge residents to take preventive measures, such as eliminating mosquito breeding sites and using protection against mosquito bites.
