Baquial to Challenge Jala for Loboc Mayor in 2025
LOBOC Councilor Erwin Baquial has announced his intention to run for mayor of Loboc in the 2025 elections, setting up a potential showdown with incumbent Mayor Raymond Jala.
Baquial, a two-term councilor, confirmed his aspirations during a radio interview over DYTR.
He also revealed that he has chosen Leo Baguio as his running mate and is assembling a slate of candidates to support his bid.
As part of his platform, Baquial is proposing discounted rates for Loboc residents who want to experience the town’s famous river cruise.
He noted that many Loboc residents have never had the opportunity to enjoy the cruise, and hopes that lower rates will encourage them to take advantage of the attraction.
Baquial also plans to focus on expanding water supply services to reach more residents of Loboc, who currently lack access to this essential service.
He cited the need to improve the town government’s services to its constituents.
Baquial’s announcement sets the stage for a potentially competitive mayoral election in Loboc town next year.
