Dr. Miguelito “Mike” Jayoma has been appointed as the new chief of the Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Medical Center (GCGMMC), succeeding Dr. Mutya Kismet Macuno, who retired earlier this year.
Macuno, who stepped down from her post in August, has since filed her candidacy for a seat as board member of Bohol’s 1st District.
Dr. Jayoma brings extensive experience to his new role, having previously served as chief of Garcia Memorial Provincial Hospital in Talibon and Teodoro B. Galagar District Hospital in Jagna.
Under his leadership, the Garcia Memorial Provincial Hospital received recognition in 2022 as a local health system awardee.
Officials and staff of GCGMMC welcomed Jayoma’s appointment, expressing optimism about his leadership.
GCGMMC, the leading referral hospital in Bohol, is managed by the Department of Health. It operates independently of the Gallares-Cortes Campus, a multi-specialty medical facility also located in the province.
Jayoma’s tenure is expected to focus on further improving the hospital’s services and cementing its status as the province’s healthcare cornerstone.
