Tagbilaran City Mayor Jane Cajes-Yap has announced the city’s partnership with renowned architect Felino "Jun" A. Palafox, Jr. to develop a comprehensive urban development plan.
According to Yap, the plan will serve as a guide for the city’s expansion, ensuring sustainable and equitable growth for all citizens.
The mayor pointed out that a well-thought-out urban development plan is crucial in achieving the city’s goals of improving the quality of life for residents, increasing social equality, and protecting the natural environment for future generations.
Palafox, a leading Filipino architect, is the founder of Palafox Associates, the first Filipino architectural firm to be cited in the World’s Top 500 Architectural Firms by World Architecture Magazine.
The firm ranked 94th in 2006 and 89th in 2012, a distinction that reflects its global reputation.
Yap assured that the city will remain consultative and participative throughout the planning process, ensuring that all stakeholders, including citizens, are involved in shaping the city’s future.
The mayor said that the administration is committed to providing the best possible development for Tagbilaran City.
The urban development plan is part of the Yap-Jala administration’s efforts to promote sustainable growth and development in the city.
