Benjie Oliva, a mayoral candidate in Catigbian, Bohol, has clarified that he is the official bet of the Abante Bohol party in the town, amid claims by his opponent that they are the party’s endorsed candidate.
Oliva made the statement during an interview on Open Forum over DYTR, citing a proclamation rally in Panglao last month where he was declared as the party’s candidate for Catigbian mayor.
The clarification comes as Oliva’s opponent has reportedly claimed to be the Abante Bohol bet, prompting Oliva to place tarpaulins in the town to assert his official endorsement.
Oliva’s Uswag Catigbjan group is also supporting Board Member Lucille Lagunay, as well as incumbent board members Aldner Damalerio and Benjie Arcamo.
As part of his campaign, Oliva has been meeting with voters in the barangays to outline his plans for the town, which is set to elect a new mayor as incumbent Elizabeth Mandin-Pace will not seek reelection.
