Court Resets Hearing on Loctob Water Firm’s Injunction Plea
An RTC court on Friday reset a hearing on a petition for a preliminary injunction filed by Loctob Water Inc. (LWI) to December 10, according to the company’s lawyer.
The hearing, which was initially scheduled for Friday, was postponed after the respondent’s lawyer requested more time to study the case, LWI legal counsel Marvin Aceron told reporters outside the Regional Trial Court branch 50 in Loay.
Aceron declined to comment further on the case, citing the subjudice rule. However, he confirmed that the court granted the respondent’s request for a new hearing date.
The case stems from a temporary restraining order (TRO) issued by Judge Samuel Biliran on December 4, directing Loboc Mayor Raymond Jala to cease disrupting the operations and completion of LWI’s water treatment plant.
The TRO remains in effect, prohibiting Mayor Jala from taking any action that could violate the order, Aceron said.
Mayor Jala and his lawyer attended Friday’s hearing, with the mayor seated at the back of the courtroom, according to Aceron.
The new hearing date is set for December 10.
