A suspected drug trader has been arrested in the town of Talibon, following a sting operation by the local police.
Jose Yana, 43, was detained last week after allegedly selling packets of shabu, a type of methamphetamine, to an undercover buyer.
The police had been monitoring Mr. Yana’s activities and decided to launch a buy-bust operation, which resulted in his arrest.
Six packets of suspected shabu were seized from Mr. Yana, with an estimated weight of 2.8g and a street value of P19,000.
The suspect is now facing charges under the Philippines’ Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The arrest is part of ongoing efforts by the Philippine authorities to crack down on the illegal drug trade in the country.
