New York-based conversational technology software, Woveon, recently competed in Accathon Capital’s “Pitch2China” competition, and today announced it has won the competition.
The event was hosted by Accathon Capital, a global innovation platform aiming to connect the tech & innovation between startups and corporates in the US and China. Winner of the competition secures a slot into their upcoming biannual ‘Innovation Journey to China’ program.
The program seeks to give participants a well-rounded insight into China’s innovation landscape and business culture through mentoring and a visit to multiple business hubs in China to meet investors, government officials, and executives from leading companies. Some of their partners include Alibaba Group, Shenzhen Valley Ventures, Startup Grind, and Ping An Fin+Tech Accelerator.
Launched in 2016, Woveon has steadily been making a footprint in the APAC region. With a recently completed PoC with one of the top 10 retail banks in Australia, it is now setting sights on a bigger Asia footprint.
With more than 14 million corporate Wechat accounts and 38 billion daily messages sent on WeChat alone, the Chinese market is an exciting playground for conversational technology like Woveon.
“[Our win] is a good indicator that our value proposition resonates well with international stakeholders,” says Woveon CEO, Adam Rawot. “It gives us a lot to think about as we look at a greater global expansion. We’re thankful for the opportunity.”
