The Bohol provincial government is considering sending aid to victims of the recent series of typhoons that battered the Luzon area, leaving millions in damage and at least 100 dead.
The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council will discuss the type of aid to be sent, as part of a goodwill gesture to reciprocate the help Bohol received from other provinces during past calamities, including the 2013 earthquake and Typhoon Odette in 2021.
The series of typhoons, which started at the end of October and continued until mid-November, affected at least six regions in the country.
Climate experts were caught off guard by the intensity and frequency of the storms, with some attributing the phenomenon to climate change.
