Suspect Arrested in Candijay Raid, Guns and Shabu Seized
A 34-year-old suspect was arrested in a raid in Barangay Panas, Candijay town, after authorities found guns and shabu in his residence, police said.
Roy Olayan y Lacar, a resident of the barangay, was described as a street-level individual. He was apprehended after police, armed with a search warrant, raided his house last week.
Seized from the suspect were a cal. 38 revolver with three live bullets and 0.04 grams of suspected shabu worth over 200 pesos.
According to the police report, the raid was conducted after authorities received information about the suspect’s alleged involvement in illegal possession of firearms and drugs. The search warrant was issued by the presiding judge of the Regional Trial Court Branch 51 in Carmen town.
Olayan is currently detained at the Candijay PNP lock-up jail and is facing charges for violating Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) and Section 11 of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002). The case is now pending before the provincial prosecutor’s office.
