DAMALERIO HOPES FOR UNIFIED EMERGENCY COMMAND CENTER

A BOARD MEMBER in Bohol is pushing for the creation of a unified emergency command center, as the proposed ordinance awaits the governor’s signature.

Board Member Aldner Damalerio told reporters he expects Governor Aris Aumentado to sign the measure upon returning from overseas on January 14, 2025.

The ordinance seeks to establish a centralized command facility that will house multiple emergency response agencies including the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine Coast Guard, Armed Forces of the Philippines, and Philippine National Police.

"This center will enable real-time monitoring and faster emergency response across Bohol," Damalerio said, adding that it would enhance disaster preparedness and help maintain peace and order in the province.

The measure has already passed its third and final reading at the provincial board level.

Once signed by the governor, it will become a full-fledged ordinance.
