The Aimviva Travel club has pivoted into the Nomad Insurance space. Having serviced regular travellers since 2 years ago it has become clear that most members valued the travel insurance element of the club above all the other benefits, and there have been numerous requests to cover longer duration journeys. Aimviva still provides more than travel insurance, all members also receive a complimentary lounge pass, global data SIM and a smart luggage tag
Aimviva founded by Brad Emery, a financial services veteran with over 25 years of experience in banking and insurance has developed a reputation for solving issues that standard providers do not cover through the innovative club format.
For example, members can initiate cover from any country of residence traveling to anywhere that is not on a travel blacklist for up to 90 days at a time… in standard form. This can be extended on request. Members may be covered up to age 75 (on request over 70) and high-risk activities are covered as standard providing they are amateur in nature.
Aimviva takes a novel approach to customer acquisition preferring to work with partners, offering FREE products as "trip wires", which is a common online marketing approach but has not been seen before in the online insurance space.
Nomad insurance until recently was the preserve or World Nomads although SafetyWing.com raised US$3.5 Million over the summer of 2019 to fund their growth in this space. Aimviva appears able to compete strongly with both companies on both benefits and prices.
Whilst the travel insurance space is competitive the market is huge with over 240 Million Annual policies sold globally each year. Adroit Market Research scopes the global market at US$35.1 Billion
