The local government unit of Loay, Bohol will resume its free transportation program for students on Monday, August 12, Mayor Lahar Ayuban announced.
The OneLoay Jeepneys will once again provide free rides to students traveling to Tagbilaran City under the Libreng Sakay Program.
To avail of the free service, students must first pay an insurance fee of 85 pesos at the Bohol Community Multipurpose Cooperative and present the receipt at the Tourism Office to register.
The student personal accident insurance covers accidental medical reimbursement, accidental burial benefit, unprovoked murder and assault, and accidental death and disablement.
Prior to the Libreng Sakay Program, students often had to wait late into the night for transportation home. The program has ensured that students can travel safely and for free.
Ayuban expressed gratitude to the One Loay Jeepney drivers and their assistants for their dedication and hard work.
The program was made possible through the efforts of the Loay local government unit, led by Ayuban, with the support of the town’s department heads and the Sangguniang Bayan.
