LTO Tagbilaran City Registrar Summoned by Sangguniang Panlungsod
The Sangguniang Panlungsod summoned Land Transportation Office (LTO) Tagbilaran City Registrar Yvonne Auza to its regular session last week.
City Vice Mayor Adam Relson Jala led the city council in inviting Auza to clarify the LTO’s new directive, which mandates that only authorized Motor Vehicle Inspection Centers (MVIC) conduct inspections for vehicle registration, removing the process from LTO centers.
Bohol was designated as the pilot area for the implementation of this order.
Concerns arose over the high cost of inspections at MVICs, which have exclusive rights to conduct the procedure, leaving vehicle owners without alternative centers.
The Sangguniang Panlungsod sought to address the issue and explore possible legislative actions in response.
