A 39-year-old man was taken into custody recently after allegedly strafing a home in Poblacion, Baclayon, using a KG-9 submachine gun.
John Ignatius Quiñal, a resident of barangay Poblacion, was arrested by police who responded to a call from a concerned citizen after the incident.
According to police, Quiñal was seen shouting outside the victim’s house, owned by a teacher, before opening fire.
Neighbors, disturbed by the commotion, reported the incident to the authorities.
Police found Quiñal in possession of the firearm but he was unable to produce licenses to carry the gun.
Authorities recovered the firearm, 16 empty shells of 9mm ammunition, and 8 deformed bullets near the victim’s home.
The incident is currently under investigation, and Quiñal may face multiple charges.
