Motorcycle Driver Killed in Calape Road Accident
CALAPE, Bohol — A motorcyclist was killed in a road accident involving a tourist van on the national highway in Calape town on Wednesday morning.
Ricky Toloy, a resident of Barangay Dao, Dauis, was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital after the collision, which occurred around 9 a.m.
According to police, the tourist van, driven by 53-year-old Sergio Crusit of Barangay Ulbujan, Calape, was traveling from Calape to Tubigon, while Toloy was heading in the opposite direction from Tubigon to Tagbilaran.
The accident occurred when the tourist van crossed into Toloy’s lane, resulting in the collision.
Toloy was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Crusit is currently under investigation by the Calape police.
The family of the motorcyclist has agreed to a settlement and is expected to meet with Crusit and his family.
According to the Calape police, the motorcyclist’s family has decided to accept the accident and will receive compensation for the damages.
