Police authorities in Talibon, Bohol, have intensified their investigation into the killing of a 24-year-old woman, with three persons of interest now facing scrutiny.
According to Police Captain Amelito Melloria, head of the Talibon police, the case is now 70% solved.
The victim, identified as Jean Crescencio, was shot and killed on Saturday evening while riding her motorcycle in Barangay San Roque.
Melloria said the three persons of interest are being eyed in connection with Crescencio’s death. The victim’s family has also provided a lead on the suspects.
Crescencio, a mother of six, leaves behind three young children, aged 6, 4, and 11 months. The family has been left reeling from the loss.
According to investigators, Crescencio was shot by a gunman who approached her from behind on her motorcycle. The shooting occurred at around 8 p.m. on Saturday.
The police have recovered evidence and are working to solve the case as quickly as possible. Melloria said the family’s lead on the suspects has been helpful in the investigation.
The victim’s body has been brought to the family’s residence in Barangay San Roque, where it will be buried on Monday.
The police are working to bring justice to Crescencio’s family, who have been left to pick up the pieces after her tragic death.
