The Regional Development Council-7 (RDC-7) has approved P162.8 million pesos in funding for various projects and programs in Central Visayas for fiscal year 2025, officials said.
The funding, which was approved during the RDC-7’s fourth quarter full council meeting, will support 94 projects and programs across various sectors, including development administration, economic development, infrastructure development, and social development.
Bohol Governor Aris Aumentado, who presided over the meeting, said the council also endorsed several key initiatives, including the Panglao-Metro Tagbilaran Septage and Sewerage Project, a Free Wi-Fi program, and a disaster risk reduction and management plan.
The council also expressed its support for the Green Fins approach, aimed at strengthening the diving industry in the region, and the enactment of Senate Bill No. 2859, which seeks to expand the Philippine Science High School System, including the establishment of a campus in Ubay town.
The meeting, attended by officials from regional and national offices, as well as sectoral representatives, also saw the approval of the annual investment plan, which corresponds to the earmarked funding.
The RDC-7’s approval of the funding and initiatives is expected to support the region’s development and growth in the coming year.
