TAGBILARAN COUNCILOR LINKED TO DAUIS ROAD ACCIDENT
A Tagbilaran City councilor has been linked to a van involved in a road accident in Dauis that killed two motorists, according to allegations circulating on social media.
The identity of the councilor has not been disclosed.
The accident occurred last week in Barangay Tinago, Dauis, when a van driven by a person from Parañaque allegedly struck two motorists.
Dauis police chief Lt. Rogelio Baluran declined to comment on the allegations, saying authorities are still investigating the incident.
"We are still gathering evidence and coordinating with the victims’ families," Baluran said.
No charges have been filed against the suspect, whose identity has not been released.
The suspect surrendered to authorities but was released due to lack of custodial capacity.
Baluran assured the public that charges will be filed against the suspect once the investigation is complete.
"We are working to build an airtight case," Baluran said.
