The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has confirmed that the Tagbilaran City Fish Terminal, located on the Causeway in Barangay Poblacion 1, will be expanded.
According to First District Engineer John Paul Gascon, the project will be funded by P144 million from the General Appropriations Act (GAA). Construction is set to begin this month, with the contractor already preparing the site.
The expansion will include a parking area and will be built using piles and flooring, Gascon said in an interview with DYTR.
He clarified that the DPWH will not undertake reclamation for the terminal’s expansion.
The project is expected to start in August, allowing fishermen and vendors to relocate and make way for the construction of the expanded terminal.
