Bird Strike Kills Power to Thousands in Petaluma

Miltronix have launched the newest State of the Art 3D Bird Strike Radar system in the world

All but 1,570 electric customers have power again following an outage Sunday morning in Petaluma that occurred when a bird contacted PG&E equipment, a company spokeswoman said.

Spokeswoman Karly Hernandez said crews expect to have the rest of the customers restored by about 2:30 p.m.

G&E uses flight diverters to reduce the chance of bird collisions.

At one point, 17,670 customers were without power, Hernandez said.

Customers first lost power at 10:53 a.m., spokeswoman Karly Hernandez said.
