Bohol hosts 92nd General Assembly of League of Vice Governors
The League of Vice Governors of the Philippines (LVGP) paid a courtesy visit to the Bohol Provincial Capitol on Friday, March 3, 2023.
The LVGP is holding its 92nd General Assembly in Bohol, one of the provinces in the Central Visayas Region.
The Provincial Administrator Asteria Caberte welcomed the LVGP delegates on behalf of Governor Aris Aumentado, who was unable to attend due to prior commitments. Caberte expressed her gratitude and appreciation for choosing Bohol as the venue for their assembly.
Acting Governor Victor Balite guided the members of the LVGP led by national president Laguna Vice Governor Katherine Agapay who went around the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Offices. Balite also showed them some of the historical and cultural features of the Provincial Capitol building, which was constructed in 1855 to serve as a tribunal, prison and military quarters for the Spanish colonial government.
The LVGP is an organization of vice governors from all over the country that aims to promote good governance, local autonomy and development. The General Assembly is an annual event where they discuss issues and concerns affecting their respective provinces and share best practices and innovations.
The LVGP delegates will also have a chance to explore some of Bohol’s attractions such as coral reefs and unusual geological formations like Chocolate Hills during their stay.
