DFA-Bohol Consular Office Opens in Tagbilaran City

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) – Consular Office in Bohol is being inaugurated and opened this morning at the fifth floor of Alturas Mall, Tagbilaran City.

Undersecretary for Civilian Security and Consular Affairs Jesus "Gary" Domingo, 1st District Congressman Edgar Chatto, Marlito Uy of the Alturas Group, Governor Aris Aumentado, Assistant Secretary Adelio Angelito Cruz, Mayor Jane Yap, and Consular Office Director Conrado Demdem, Jr. are leading the ribbon cutting ceremony.

DFA Secretary Enrique Manalo is not attending the event but is delivering a message through a pre-recorded video.

Following the inauguration, a Memorandum of Agreement between the DFA and the Alturas Group is being signed, and officials and staff of the DFA-Bohol Office are taking their oath of office.

DFA-Bohol Office received 500 applications for various positions, with 15 selected after a rigorous screening process.

The opening of the DFA-Bohol Office is expected to benefit locals, residents, tourists, overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), and balikbayans who require consular services and interventions, eliminating the need to travel outside of Bohol.

DFA-Bohol Office was established and funded through the efforts of Congressman Edgar Chatto and the concerned national agencies.
