SyTech IT has won a new contract with Keele University to provide High-Speed Secure Wi-Fi and associated services into the new Denise Coates Foundation Building. Located on Keele University’s Science and Innovation Park, the multi-million-pound facility will house both Keele Business School and state-of-the-art facilities for business collaboration and incubation in a Smart Innovation Hub.
Building on SyTech IT’s current relationship with Keele University, businesses will benefit from the latest, cutting-edge technology platform from Sytech IT which will provide secure, robust delivery of High-Speed Wi-Fi connectivity.
The Smart Innovation Hub alongside the Business School will provide lettable office accommodation to support the creation and growth of innovation-led businesses, alongside major new facilities to enable the University to grow its established programme of collaborative research, development and innovation support to local firms.
Joe Caine- Smart Innovation Hub Manager Said: “For our tenants, having access to high-performance Wi-Fi means they get fast and reliable connectivity. But for us, it means much more. We wanted to provide security around that connection. Many innovation-led high growth start-ups and corporate users that we attract here at Keele University’s Science and Innovation Park have strict security and privacy requirements. SyTech IT has been able to provide a workspace that offers advanced technology with secure connections, while also offering flexibility in a collaborative environment.”
The Smart Innovation Hub has been funded by the University, the European Regional Development Fund as part of the England Growth Programme 2014-2020, the Midlands Engine and Staffordshire County Council with support from the Stoke-on-Trent & Staffordshire Local Enterprise Partnership.
By 2021 and as a result of the new Smart Innovation Hub facilities, the University will grow its established programme of business support accessed via its dedicated Business Gateway, by an additional 300 business collaborations, leading to the creation of at least 80 new high-value jobs. An independent appraisal signals that investment in facilities and programme of business-collaboration will contribute an additional £50 million to the local economy by 2033.
The building is due to be completed by September 2019. If you are interested in applying for office accommodation please visit keele.ac.uk/smartinnovationhub for more information.
