The Menternship Extends Once-in-a-Lifetime-Opportunity for Young Detroit Women to Learn Business

The Menternship announced their second year of programming, beginning July 2nd throughout September 1st. The intensive 8 week program will teach female college undergraduates about brand and business development. The first of its kind, the program is both a mentorship and internship, where young entrepreneurs build relationships with local and national business leaders. During an all-expense paid business trip to New York City, (the last week of the program) youth will experience in-person networking with top leaders in business. This year, 23 year old Founder & CEO, Alexis Wilson, anticipated elite organizations, as she partnered with Nike, Ralph Lauren, Viacom, VaynerMedia, HelloBeautiful and BET. Moreover, a series of Detroit CEO’s will serve as mentors and what the program refers to as “Impact Leaders” that include but are not limited to, Detroit vs Everybody, Jabs Gym, and Lululemon. The Menternship 2018 will include a distinguished Advisory Board with employees and leaders from the distinguished University of Michigan, The Yunion and Ralph Lauren.

“There are untapped entrepreneurial talents in Detroit who are unable to make the best of their gifts given lack of opportunity and resources. That’s why we’re here to aid.” says Wilson. Applicants will have to choose from 3 main roles- General Business, Digital Strategy and Product Development.
