DEPED NEEDS PRODUCTION PARTNERS TO MOUNT CLASSROOMS ON AIR AND IN CYBERSPACE
We are pleased that issues on the reopening of classes are being thoroughly sorted-out to make sure that the health and safety of our students are not compromised as we ensure that they are not unduly delayed in their learning.
In last night’s IATF meeting, it was clear that President Duterte has utmost trust and confidence in the wisdom of Education Secretary Leonor Magtolis Briones. Buo ang tiwala ng Pangulo kay Secretary Briones kaya nang ipaliwanag niya ang mga hakbang na gagawin ng DepEd, aprubado agad ito ni Presidente.
We fully support Sec. Briones’ Learning Continuity Plan, including the mechanisms to ensure class sessions on television, radio, and internet video streaming.
We welcome the offer to make the frequencies of IBC-13 available for DepEd’s distance learning, blended learning, and assisted homeschooling. We note, however, that the production facilities of IBC are no longer adequate.
DepEd needs production partners from the state universities and colleges, from private higher education, and from corporate charitable foundations.
We need to make sure that the learning contents are relevant, liberating and empowering to our students as it develop critical thinking and skills and build character in them.
We publicly appeal for massive support of DepEd’s Learning Continuity Plan. It is our hope many will respond to the need to help DepEd, CHED, and the Filipino youth continue their learning despite COVID-19. (END)
